Enforcement of rights for democracy
The Enforcement of Rights for the Expansion of Democracy program allows social organizations to implement actions aimed at the enforcement of rights and the reconstruction of memory. In order to achieve this, the program generates comprehension and action capabilities for the enforcement or rights by social organizations, and motivates them to implement internal democratic and gender equality practice that strengthen their cohesion and the coherence between action and political commitments. Likewise, it develops actions for the establishment of alliances and collective actions that further the positioning of their political agendas.
The Enforcement of Rights for the Expansion of Democracy program draws on the institution’s research track regarding the analysis of social movements, human rights, political violence, and economic, social, and cultural rights (DHESC, according to its acronym in Spanish). This fosters an integrated understanding of collective actions carried out by different social sectors in favor of human tights, with special emphasis on landholding and the recovery of memory form different perspectives. This research experience is linked to pedagogical developments regarding education for peace and human rights.
